Evaluate a Pokémon Card Lot
A large lot can look attractive because the cost per card is low. The real question is how much usable, sellable inventory is inside and what it will cost to process.
1. Identify What You Are Buying
Separate modern hits, playable cards, vintage cards, bulk, damaged cards and potential grading candidates.
2. Inspect Condition
Look for whitening, dents, scratches, print defects, edge wear and off-centering.
3. Estimate Sell-Through
Use realistic market prices and account for platform fees, shipping and time to sell.
4. Calculate Your Maximum Purchase Price
Work backward from realistic revenue and subtract costs and desired margin.
5. Track the Lot
Use the Trading Card Inventory Tracker to organize the inventory created by a purchase.
6. Evaluate Grading Candidates
Use the PSA 10 Evaluation Checklist + Card Conditioning Guide before paying for grading.
